Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar, White Moscato
Background
Jakkalsvlei is a family-owned winery situated in the Garden Route, close to the rural village, Herbertsdale, next to the Langeberg Mountains. The land is farmed by the Jonker family since 1972, in 1987 the first vineyards were planted, and since 2008 our wines have been bottled under Jakkalsvlei. Our vision is to grow quality grapes that produce world-class wines for everybody to enjoy.
Vineyards
This delightful White Moscato wine is crafted from young White Muscadel vines planted during 2019. These vineyards are nestled in decomposed, rocky sandstone soils at Jakkalsvlei and picked early in the season at low sugars to make this fresh low alcohol wine. The vines are drip irrigated and planted in a North – South row direction. The result is a beloved, naturally sweet wine that is perfect for easy sipping.
Winemaker’s comments
Colour: Beautiful light sun yellow colour
Bouquet: Fresh tropical fruit flavours of litchi and apricot, sweet honey blossom and muscat.
Taste: Alluring freshness of tropical fruits, muscat and honey amplified by a fuzzy perlé and exotic spice.
Also makes for an interesting pairing with mild curries.
Alcohol: 8.00%
